The first vaccine is due to be released in Virginia on Wednesday and is expected to cover most of the state, the governor’s office said.
A second shot is due on Friday and a third shot is expected on Saturday.
The first shots will be distributed to more than 3,000 homes in Virginia and will be sent to people who have not yet been vaccinated.
The new vaccine will cover all residents of the Commonwealth, the Virginia Department of Health and Human Services said.
The state’s first shot is to be delivered by a local health care provider.
A total of 13,600 doses have been distributed.
The governor said the first vaccine will not be available for more than a year, and a second shot will be available in 10 years.
