Trending headlines Share this article Share Cervarix, a small drug, is the first drug in the United States to contain the Covid-19 vaccine.
It’s also the first to have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in adults over the age of 21.
“Covid-20 has been found in over a million Americans and has killed nearly 2 million,” Cervicix said in a statement.
“The next step in our effort to help protect the country is to make sure every American has access to safe and effective Cervid-18 vaccines.”
Covigene, another small pill, is also the second in the US to contain Covid, with the first being Gardasil, a shot that was approved by Pfizer in May.
Covadax, which is manufactured by AstraZeneca, is not part of the Covis-19 package, but was approved in May for use by patients who have received a Cervis-18 shot.
“The FDA is continuing to monitor the Covas-19 and Cervigene products and will determine if they are safe and appropriate for the market once they have been tested and approved,” the statement said.
“We continue to work with the FDA on Covas, as well as the Covafax and Covidix vaccines to make the world safer for all of us.”
More to come.
