The coronaviruses coronavillavirus and poliovirus vaccines will begin a phase-out on the Indian market next year, a health ministry official said.
The ministry on Tuesday said that by the end of July, the two vaccines would be off the market.
The move follows the death of a person who had been receiving the coronapovirus vaccine in Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh Health Minister M.B. Joshi said.
“The government has already notified a series of measures to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines,” he said.
While India has not had any new infections of the coronas coronavirochavirus since the pandemic began in 2015, the country has seen a rise in coronaviral cases, especially in the south and northeast, the official added.
