Maryland has become the second state in the country to introduce the flu vaccine in an effort to keep up with the coronaviirus pandemic.
The US government announced Thursday that it would also begin vaccinating people aged 50 and older in the state, in an attempt to reduce the number of people infected.
The decision came after two patients died in Maryland on Thursday, the first such case since the start of the coronivirus pandemics.
In the state of Pennsylvania, the state’s vaccination program has been scaled back after the state recorded 13 new confirmed cases and three deaths on Thursday.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health said that it will continue to vaccinate children and adults, but it will phase out the older age group in 2018 and 2019.More:
